The Oscar Rennebohm Foundation has donated $50,000 to build splash parks in Reindahl and Elver Park on Madison’s East and West side respectively.
“The Madison Parks Foundation is thrilled by the generosity of the Oscar Rennebohm Foundation, which continues to leave a legacy of philanthropy throughout Madison,” says Executive Director of the Madison Parks Foundation, Stephanie Franklin, “As longtime community stewards, they identify with the need to provide safe, healthy and fun opportunities for kids and families across the city.”
The City of Madison committed to funding 85% of the project, while the foundation and other organizations, such as the Evjue Foundation, American Family Insurance, and Madison Community Foundation, have donated funds to help bridge the gap.
The parks will feature spray toys and fountains and provide children with more opportunities for safe and fun summer play. Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2014. The parks are set to open in August.
